Air Canada takes delivery of first A220

Air Canada has this week taken delivery of its first A220 on the back of the recent order for 45 of the aircraft. The company is planning to expand its network by opening two routes starting Spring 2020. The two routes connect Montreal-Seattle and Toronto-San-Jose, California. The company now services more than 120 destinations across North America.

The A220 provides the technology to carry you farther and faster than before. It seats 137 passengers in a dual class layout. 12 in business class and 125 in economy class. The aircraft replaces the older narrow body aircraft with the worlds most efficient fleet. Featuring 50% noise reduction innoise footprint compared to previous generation aircraft and 50% lower NOx emissions than industry standards.

The first A220 for Air Canada will be unveiled to the public and media at airlines headquarters in Montreal on January 15 2020. At the time of writing the current fleet size of Air Canada is 184. More great news for Airbus and also Air Canada sustaining their future in the competitive market.

We look forward to the official launch in January 2020!
